What is a GFCI Outlet?
GFCI stands for Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter. Its main purpose is to protect you from an electrical shock, especially near wet locations.

Installing Electrical Outlet

How Does It Work?

  • The difference between a GFCI outlet installation and a regular outlet is that the GFCI outlet works on the balance between the hot and neutral wires. It senses water or a short immediately when either touches the hot (“live”) wire.
The GFCI immediately stops power flow and protects you from electrical shock. It also protects plugged-in devices from shorting or burning.

Sometimes, what may seem fairly simple, can cost in damage or power loss of several parts of your home.

  • As an Electrical Contractor we can recommend various options in installing GFCI protected circuits. In fact, there are also GFCI protected circuit breakers, which you can install to protect other equipment such as SPAs, Pool Lights, Outdoor lights.
